AOL owned MapQuest.com has recently introduced a local search engine called MQSearch. Currently in its beta testing stage, MQSearch offers users the ability to seek out local businesses and locations.

Results are returned with the name and address of the business queried, with a link to a MapQuest map of the location and the estimated driving distance. MQSearch bases its map results on a 25-mile radius of the area searched. These results can be expanded out to within 50 miles.
Currently, MapQuest has no future plans for MQSearch after the beta testing is complete.
