Computer giant IBM is preparing the release of its upgraded enterprise-level search engine. The project, code named "Masala," is an upgraded version of its previous tool, Information Integrator.
Distributed search has become another hot topic within the search industry. Google has introduced network hardware that serves as an enterprise-level search tool that allows users to search the companies intranet and its public website. It does not perform "simultaneous intranet and Internet searches."
Currently, IBM is field testing Masala with a small group of current customers and is expected to go to full beta stage by May.
